Toastique → Domestique

A fall marathon from Toastique in Reston to Domestique Wine in Washington. Everyone gathers at Toastique to start; run the full 26.2, or ride the Silver Line out to a shorter start and run it in. Nothing is timed, and everyone finishes at Domestique.

The course

One line across the river. Out of Reston Town Center on the W&OD Trail, a handoff to the Custis at Bon Air, over the Key Bridge into Georgetown, a lap past the monuments, and in to the wine in Bloomingdale. Flat rail-trail for the better part of it, with one honest climb on the Custis.

Pick your distance

• The Full · 26.2 mi: Start at Toastique, Reston Town Center. The whole line, toast to wine.
• The Long Ten · ~10 mi: Silver Line out to East Falls Church, take the Custis in.
• The Seven · ~7 mi: Silver Line out to Ballston. The Custis hills, the bridge, the monuments.
• The Last Leg · ~4 mi: Silver Line to Rosslyn. Over the Key Bridge and in past the monuments.
• The Relay: Teams of any size. Hand off at East Falls Church, Ballston, Rosslyn.

Day of

Both ends sit on Metro: Silver Line to Reston for the start, Red Line home from NoMa at the finish. Leave the car.

Coffee and toast at the start, aid along the W&OD at the town crossings. Prizes for the first man and first woman to Domestique. In the cyclist's tradition, the Lanterne Rouge (last across the line) takes one too.
